This Flying site is operated and maintained by the West Tennessee R/C Flyers (WTRC). Safety is our #1 priority, including flyers, spectators, and neighbors.
All pilots must be current members of WTRC Flyers and of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Non-AMA pilots may only fly under direction of a designated WTRC instructor pilot.
All flying to be conducted in accordance of the AMA National Safety Code.
Guests who are current AMA members may fly at the invitation of a WTRC member.
Pilots and guests should conduct themselves in a civil and sportsmanlike manner consistent with a family organization.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages on the premises is strictly prohibited.
ALL flying is to be to the EAST of the flight line (established by the safety fence running north and south along the west side of the runway). There will be absolutely NO flying over any portion of the Water Treatment Facility.
There will be absolutely NO flying over the pit area (or behind it).
Landings from the south should be right hand approaches from the east. Approaches over the Water Treatment Facility are strictly prohibited.
Spectators must stay to the west side of the safety barrier. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Pilots and helpers only are permitted in the pit area or pilots box. Pilots should stand near one of the designated pilot stations while flying.
There will be an aircraft “traffic pattern” indicator (into the prevailing wind) near the runway of which all pilots are expected to observe during takeoff and landing. Cross-field takeoffs and landings (east-west) are not permitted except in emergency.
After landing, all airplanes will be shut off and carried back to the pit area.
Engine sound levels must be in accordance with AMA guidelines (98db at 9ft). All engines must use an effective muffler. After market mufflers without baffles should not be used.
Prior to turning their transmitter on, all pilots must obtain a frequency pin and place their valid AMA card in the frequency control station on the channel being used. Pilots using more than one channel should have extra ID cards in addition to the AMA card.
All transmitters will use the AMA approved frequencies and must be “1991” certified.
Please pick up all litter. Please take your own trash home. This includes cigarette butts and rubber bands.
